Known Entities
There are deities which are suspiciously absent from what would be expected. Conversely, there are deities which are present which would clearly not be expected. Fortunately several have survived more or less intact.
Names And Titles
Many people prefer to use names as opposed to titles. I have given Roman names to Hiemis, Terra Mater, Silvanus, Liber, Aesculanus, Feronia, and Apollo as I only know them by their titles, not their original names. Of the known names, Diana is a Roman name and Haltia is obviously Finnish. Grendeler is most likely from the word Grendel. Belak is possibly from the root word Beli. Gar is a complete mystery.
Diana, the Moon Goddess
She is Luna, perhaps the oldest and most powerful of the remaining Gods and Goddesses. She is not the moon; however the moon radiates her power. She commands earth silver. She is generous but expects the same in return. She will not tolerate cowardice. She tempers her justice with compassion. She is the defender of the innocent.
Hiemis, the Ice Queen
She is not winter, however she can command the cold, as she is of the cold. She views the winter as her domain and her domain alone. She demands respect from all, God and man alike. She believes only in the old ways and will never compromise. She is dangerous.
Terra Mater, the Mother of the Earth
She is the Goddess of the Earth.
Rex Silvanus, the Forest King/Ruler
He is the patriarch of the forest. He will usually be in the form of a giant stag however he can take the form of man or beast. He can communicate in either form. Like Diana, he is very old.
Mars Silvanus, the God of Planting
He is definitely not responsible for all vegetation growth; however his very presence helps to make areas he frequents lush with vegetation. He does not demand offerings however he will stay in an area where offerings are respectfully presented.
Aesculanus, the Copper God
He can manipulate and transform copper.
Feronia, the Fire Goddess
She can come through a large fire or a single candle flame. She is lonely and enjoys interaction.
Apollo, the God of Healing
He is requested for healing. He can help but cannot do the impossible. Trade of some type is usually involved for his assistance. Silver is the usual item of trade.
Belak
He is an outcast. He will kill other Gods and Goddesses if he can. He is deceptive. He will take advantage of any situation he can to benefit his personal desires.
Forest, Water and Air Spirits
They are beings who care for and protect their realm. They also protect many of the creatures who live within their realm.
The Helpers
The helpers are beings which are tasked to look after a person or group of people. They can provide limited assistance depending on the circumstances.
The Gar
The Gar are dark, hunchback beings with large boney protrusions which make up their shoulders. They are shape shifters. They will always take a physical form of some type. They will kill for pleasure.
The Grendelers
Grendelers are reviled by all. They do not appear to be overly light sensitive however, they will never venture into sunlight or moonlight. They are short, stocky, hairy beasts. Among other things, they eat rotted flesh.
The Haltia
The Haltia are small beings with human like features. They are not seen unless by accident or unless they want you to see them. Most (not all) are non-aggressive and can sometimes be helpful. They will usually ask for trade.
Ghosts
Ghosts were humans at one time. Ghosts are not common.
Sirens
Not to be confused with water spirits, Sirens are special water nymphs. They are territorial however they are not usually aggressive. They are protective in a motherly way.
